Courtyard by Marriott Ground-Breaking

When a consortium of developers chose to build a Courtyard by Marriott in the Shadyside section of Pittsburgh, it called upon Emerald City to create a first-class ground-breaking event to announce its plans. Emerald City developed a VIP guest list that attracted the Mayor, County Manager and State Senators and Representatives. We staged a memorable event that attracted more than 250 area civic leaders and business owners. The event was covered by two TV networks, both city dailies and two radio stations,
prompting a Marriott executive to comment that, in his experience,
he’d “never seen an event as well planned and coordinated.”

Gabes…”You Gotta Love it!”

Commonly referred to as "Gabes," Gabriel Brothers is a privately owned and operated off-priced retail chain that is experiencing explosive growth. Gabe’s and its sister stores, Rugged Wearhouse, have been opening new stores aggressively throughout the eastern half of the country. Emerald City, with partner Marmion Communications, staged successful grand openings in 10 states that combined advertising inserts, television, radio and public relations to create virtual “happenings” in each location, that resulted in extensive media coverage and long lines of “faithful “Gabes shoppers.

We Are Penn State!

The Monroeville Chamber of Commerce relies upon Emerald City Communications to lead the way to a successful annual Penn State Athletics event staged annually in Pittsburgh. Prior to the Chamber acquiring the rights to the event, its attendance had been dwindling. Working closely with the Chamber’s marketing committee, Emerald City infused life into the event with the selection of a dynamic venue and “buzz” created by advance publicity, coupled with the appearance of Penn State Cheerleaders, Lion Mascot and a marching band. More than 500 luncheon guests now attend the event to see and hear the school’s coaching staff discuss the upcoming season.
